Phocos is currently seeking an Applications Engineer to support our global Sales, Support and R&D Teams. 

Reporting to the Product Manager, the Applications Engineer is an integral part of the Technical Support team. They are responsible for fielding and resolving technical support inquiries, warranty claims as well as providing internal/external technical training on best practices for proper deployment and utilization of Phocos products. In addition, the Applications Engineer  works in tandem with Sales Managers and key clients to clearly define technical requirements for key accounts and projects, prepares and maintains external and internal specifications documents and works with R&D and production staff to ensure supplied solutions result in 100% customer satisfaction. 

 Responsibilities: 

  • Fields, documents and resolves all customer technical and system design questions for the Americas region. 
  • Supports the Americas sales staff with system design and product selection questions related to functionality and capability of products 
  • Represents Phocos at industry association meetings, trade shows, and conferences. 
  • Delivers internal and external product technical training seminars. 
  • Writes, reviews and executes tests plans and documents results in formal reporting. 
  • Collaborates with Sales staff to define product requirements for key clients. 
  • Prepares Market Requirements Documents (MRD) for new product solutions to capture customer requirements for Product Management and R&D. 
  • Works with R&D engineers to write Product Requirement Documents (PRD) for new product solutions based on an approved MRD 
  • Coordinates and assists R&D Engineers in Germany, the US to ensure prompt, accurate product development and delivery. 
  • Coordinates with Phocos manufacturing facilities and sub-contractors to ensure reliable, efficient production of products. 
  • Supports the R&D team with preparation of 3D CAD drawings and assembly drawings as part of the R&D process. 
  • Learns and stays current on all applicable standards related to the use of the company’s products including, but not limited to: National Electric Code (NEC), UL1741, ANSI 12.12.01, SAE J1455/SAEJ400, and IEC 62109. 
  • Learns and understands best practices for off-grid PV system installation and completes NABCEP PV Technical Sales certification 
  • Ensures current and future products comply with any and all applicable standards for target applications. 

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies 

  • Strong customer service, presentation and relationship management skills 
  • Demonstrated aptitude in managing multiple concurrent projects via effective time- and project-management techniques.

Phocos is currently seeking a Sales Manager - Europe to rapidly develop and grow Phocos’ business throughout Europe, serving as the key interface between customers and internal stakeholders. This position requires both technical expertise as well as the ability to initiate and develop relationships with a wide array of clients and partners from various cultural backgrounds while positioning the Phocos brand for long term growth in the marketplace. The Sales Manager - Europe will work closely with clients, the Internal Sales team and the Technical Support team to ensure customer satisfaction and expand opportunities for future sales growth. He/she must be comfortable with frequent travel, public speaking and be able to present complex technical subjects in an intuitive and straightforward manner.
  
Reporting to the COO, the Sales Manager - Europe, keeps current on market/technology trends and provides product strategy recommendations to R&D, Product Management and Executive Management teams including well defined business cases based on real world market opportunities.

You will

Phocos is currently seeking a Sales Head -SAARC to rapidly develop and grow Phocos’ business in SAARC region , serving as the key interface between customers and internal stakeholders. Phocos is currently seeking a Support Technician to join our Customer Service, Quality Management and Engineering teams.

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the Support Technician is an integral part of the technical team. He is responsible for technical customer service, application support, and assisting the development teams in creating and executing test plans as part of the product development process.

Tasks:

  • Handling technical support requests for the EMEA region
  • Troubleshooting issues and responsible for communicating thoroughly and promptly with customers on the status and resolution of support tickets
  • Testing of prototypes, alpha, beta and release products
  • Traceable documentation of test results and providing feedback to the development team
  • Investigating, documenting and resolving customers' warranty claims in a timely manner while applying world-class customer service skills
  • Thoroughly documenting all customer technical issues and regularly updating status throughout the support process
  • Needs-based support of the internal sales/logistics in quality control, the preparation of outgoing shipments and shipping
  • Occasional business trips with overnight stays are required (up to 10%).

Der Support-Techniker, der dem Director of Engineering unterstellt ist, bildet einen wesentlichen Bestandteil des technischen Teams. Er ist verantwortlich für den technischen Kundendienst, den Anwendungssupport und die Unterstützung der Entwicklungsteams bei der Erstellung und Ausführung von Testplänen im Rahmen des Produktentwicklungsprozesses.

Aufgaben:

  • Bearbeitung technischer Supportanfragen für die EMEA-Region
  • Behebung von Problemen und verantwortlich für eine gründliche und unverzügliche Kommunikation mit den Kunden über den Status und die Lösung von Support-Tickets
  • Test von Prototypen, Alpha-, Beta- und Release-Produkten
  • Nachvollziehbare Dokumentation von Testergebnissen und Erteilen von Feedback gegenüber dem Entwicklungsteam

Phocos is actively looking to hire a full-time Technical Support Technician to join our Product Development team situated in Tucson, Arizona. This dynamic team is dedicated to the development and support of a diverse product portfolio, consisting of solar charge controllers, hybrid inverters, and energy storage. As a Technical Support Technician, you will be responsible for providing advanced technical support to our customers as well as overseeing the process of warranty claims and repairs for our authorized distributors. Your role will also involve maintaining technical troubleshoot procedures and managing inquiries related to technical support.

Responsibilities: 

  • Address technical inquiries from customers in the Americas region and adeptly troubleshoot issues, ensuring prompt and comprehensive communication concerning the progress and resolution of support tickets.
  • Handle incoming calls and promptly respond to customer emails.
  •  Thoroughly record all details of customer technical support matters using the HubSpot ticketing system, consistently updating the status of tickets during the support process.
  • Collaborate with Sales teams by offering technical insight for sales inquiries, which includes aiding in product selection, evaluating system designs, and conducting in-depth product training for key clients.

The Warehouse Operations Associate will assist the Logistics Manager with warehouse operation for Phocos’ Bubesheim warehouse, as well as work closely with internal sales and support our customers with order-processing.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for warehouse including but not limited to receiving containers on time, putting away/picking/shipping on time based on customer routing guide requirement, working with outbound transportation team to ensure products get picked up on time, as well as quality management, returns operations.
  • Support Logistics Manager in managing incoming and outgoing shipments in our external warehouse in Bubesheim, 30 min outside of Ulm, Germany
  • Order processing and purchasing for the European warehouse as well as microcontrollers for production in China and India.
  • Understand and manage quarterly warehouse inventory, procurement of warehouse equipment and office supplies, while ensuring warehouse cost comes within budget.
  • Purchases all inventory supply items as required supporting targeted inventory levels.
  • Actively drive cost savings initiatives.
  • Stay on top of waste disposal laws where it pertains to old appliances, batteries, and other equipment.
  • Work on new merchandise management system (Netsuite/Trello).
  • Manage distribution along with material handling and routing/labeling requirements for national and international trade shows
  • Maintain communications and work cross functionally with Sales, Finance, and other Phocos teams regarding tasks or projects relating to inventory, invoicing,  item setup, parcel services, order shipment documentation, etc..
  • Under the direction of the Logistics Manager, work on the implementation, maintenance, and any improvements around warehouse related systems and processes.
  • Requires full understanding of products to come up with storage requirement by product to efficiently utilize warehouse space while maintaining product quality.
  • Help with evaluations and reports as well as with general administrative tasks.
  • Promptly and politely responds to customer inquiries and requests for support
  • Perform additional duties as required including, but not limited to, stocking, freight processing, etc., and cover for Logistics Manager when offsite or away from work.
  • Observe standard operating procedures for consistent quality standards and maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Professionally interact with customers, team members, and third-party vendor/partner relationships to provide the highest level of customer service.

Required Qualifications

  • 2-4 years warehouse operations, purchasing experience, preferably in a global company.
  • High level of attention to detail, strategic thinking, ability to solve complex problems, and provide strategic analysis that guides decision making.
  • Strong Customer Service orientation.
  • Must be able to work required schedules onsite at our Bubesheim location.
  • Must be able to safely and efficiently operate material handling equipment.
  • Must be able to operate the receiving segment of the warehouse management computer system.
  • Must be able to continually lift, carry, push and pull merchandise up to 40kg.
  • Must be able to continually stand, bend, stoop, twist and reach.
  • Must successfully complete commercial training, ideally with a focus on foreign trade
  • Solid knowledge of MS Office package and proficiency in ERP and CRM systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Logistics & Distribution.
  • Strong collaborative problem-solver, effective communicator.
  • Ability to forecast, analyze and prepare statistical data and metrics
  • Organized, responsible, ability to work independently and as a part of a team
  • May have to travel at times to Ulm
  • 2-4 years of experience in an international environment, both with customers and with colleagues
  • Fluent in written and spoken German and solid English skills
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently and accurately,
